Two Presidents visit TrackWell

  12. Mars 2010

Mr. Mohamed Nasheed president of the Maldive Island visited TrackWell together with Mr. Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson president of Iceland during his recent trip to Iceland.  The presidents discussed possibilities in cooperation in the field of fisheries, energy and climate changes.

TrackWell presented fisheries management solutions which have been developed in cooperation with Icelandic authorities.  TrackWell has recently implemented new software to aid in monitoring the sustainability of tuna fishing developed in cooperation with the World Bank and the Maldive authorities.  Long discussions were after the demonstration on how those two Island nations can cooperate in using technology to harvest fishery resources in a sustainable and generally “green” way.
