The North Atlantic Row 2013

A crew of four Icelanders have started a journey to row unsupported from Norway to Iceland, via Scotland (Orkney) and the Faroe Islands in 2013, and then in 2014 to continue on to Greenland and Canada. The route covers some of the most difficult seas in the North Atlantic and has never been rowed successfully before. They use a tracking system from Trackwell for their safety at sea. You can follow them here live on this map through the tracking system. On May 17th 2013 they launched from Kristiansand Norway, and are heading towards Iceland, via Scotland, and The Faroe Islands. The exact dates and locations will depend on weather and currents. The time in which we complete our journey will also depend on Ægir, Freyr and Thor, the Norse gods of weather and seas. Saga Film, Iceland’s number one film production company and crew, will document our expedition. More information on their facebook page North Atlantic...
