Trackwell is looking for a programmer with a deep knowledge of Linux, that enables him to organize and build up the company’s web systems as well as analysing and solving speed and resource problems. You will be working closely with a team that works together on tasks where your responsibility will be to ensure the functionality at the lowest level. Applicants must have at least 3 years’ experience in programming and system management and relevant education. You need to know installation and operation of Linux webservers, security and have ambition for automation. You should have programmed something in bash, Python, Java and SQL. You should preferably have some knowledge of WSGI, Tomcat, AWS scripting and Docker or comparable technology. Hafsyn at the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition 2017

Web Development and User Experience Design

Do you have passion for powerful interfaces and good usability? Trackwell is looking for people to engage in the progress of evolving our customers’ experience. Web Developer You would work in an independent development team to build and maintain flexible solutions for the business sector that work on different types of devices. We emphasize continuous-deployment and work by Scrum. You must have experience of and education in web development, with good knowledge of Python or Java as well as HTML and JavaScript. You should know Django, Spring or comparable platforms and a great benefit is to know SQL, Bootstrap, JSON/REST, Android, Linux and RabbitMQ. User Experience Designer You would collaborate with development teams, business units and customers to create work-flows for the business sector that work on different types of devices. We emphasize iteration with rapid prototyping but the work also entails finalizing ideas as well as confirming functions and behavior. You must have work experience or education in user interface design and be able to present your solutions in a visual and organized manner. Trackwell participates in the third network meeting for the project Social Science Aspects of Fisheries for the 21st Century

The third network meeting for the project Social Science Aspects of Fisheries for the 21st Century (acronym: SAF21) took place in Utrecht the 26 – 27th of October 2016 where Trackwell participated as a partner organization and an external evaluator. The SAF21 project is part of the European Training Network (ETN) in the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions for excellence science, funded under the Horizon 2020 Program. In essence SAF21 is a research project with the main objective of managing socio-ecological complex systems better. The project focuses specifically on the EU fisheries and fisheries management strategies. SAF21 differs from conventional PhD training programs in the way the research and training program is structured. The program provides, training and networking opportunities for researchers who then use the latest research tools, such as simulation and participatory approaches, with the aim of better understanding the social issues facing the fisheries management systems in Europe. The meeting offered Trackwell and other representatives of the partner organization the opportunity to introduce their institutions to the consortium and discuss training and research opportunities together with the PhD researchers, SAF21 supervisors. Trackwell then participated in the supervisory board meeting with other members of the external advisory panel such as the Icelandic Ocean Cluster, The Icelandic Small Boats Owner Association, The South African Association for Marine Biological Research and more....

Trackwell presents Hafsyn at Iceland Fishing Expo 2016

Trackwell will be presenting its newest solution, Hafsyn, at Iceland Fishing Expo 2016, to be held in Reykjavik, Iceland on September 28th to 30th. HAFSYN is a new, comprehensive solution for the registration and reporting of fishing and on-board processing. Hafsyn offer benefits both to captains and fishing companies. Included in the solution is the Trackwell Electronic Logbook, used for reporting mandatory information to fishing authorities. The system was developed in cooperation with domestic and foreign fisheries with the aim to meet increasing demands of traceability and sustainability.
